A Nigerian man was yesterday remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to trafficking and being in possession of cannabis resin.

Solomon Tesfei Tekle, a resident at the Marsa open centre, denied having dealt in the drug last Saturday evening.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli also heard him deny having committed the offence within 100 metres of an establishment frequented by minors.

Police Inspector Johann Fenech prosecuted.
