Nadur rape case
With reference to the report which appeared on Saturday under the heading Nadur Rape Case: Court Speaks Of Attempt To Buy Girl's Silence, it must be pointed out that the Criminal Court did not raise the personal guarantees imposed by the Magistrates' Court but, rather, removed the personal guarantee and increased the sums of money the accused had to deposit as security for bail.
In fact, the Criminal Court revoked the deposit of €1,500 and the personal guarantee of €10,000 in respect of each of the accused and imposed instead a deposit of €9,000 in the case of the two men charged with corrupting a girl and a deposit of €23,000 in respect of the two who stand accused of raping, corrupting and holding the girl against her will.
The error is regretted.

@ Mr Peter Muscat
Please allow me to refer to your second paragraph and in particular to your first line. I would appreciate should you inform the public what you are wondering, when you mentioned :how the PN would havebehaved in reversed circumstances!!!! The public in general is looking forward and very eager to know the outcome.
The title of this article - NADUR RAPE CASE - has nothing to do with politics. In your conclusion, you quoted: "Well done Joseph!". Well done for what ? The PN (you mentioned politics) have nothing to do with the published article. Maybe, Dr Muscat is looking forward for the Premiership Division in the year 2013? Time will tell.

@Peter Muscat.
I couldn't agree more! Friends/relatives should never bear the brunt of someone else's (alleged) wrong-doing.
Wish the same principle be applied to priests and religious though! A couple of rotten apples do not make a whole truck-load bad!

I want to congratulate the MLP in particular and the MLP media in general for the 'low profile' they kept about this unfortunate and deplorable case. The reason I am saying that is public knowledge.
I wonder how the PN would have behaved in reversed circumstances!! Indeed, the MLP and it's Leader in particular are giving us all a demonstration of new political behaviour.
Well done Joseph!
