Mqabba local council has set up a helpline on which it is asking residents to give any information that might have on a spate of vandalism this summer.

The council in a statement said it condemned the latest incident, where black paint was thrown at a private residence in Mistrah il-Fidwa.

"This was the fourth case within a few weeks during which the people were denied peace and security in their own homes. The person or persons who committed these cowardly acts need to be apprehended immediately. The council in association with the police is prepared to take additional measures to safeguard the security of families in Mqabba," the council said.

It said those having any information should phone in confidence on 21680622. Information would be handed to the police.
