Government energy debts

The total amount of pending bills that government departments had with the Water Services Corporation and Enemalta Corporation as at July 3, 2008, amounted to €2.1 million and €10.8 million respectively. The information was given by Infrastructure Minister Austin Gatt in reply to a parliamentary question by Silvio Parnis (MLP).

If these entities do not pay their bills. Enemalta should cut off the supply. That's what would happen to John citizen. Yet another case of two weights and two measures.

@ I Galea. The figure of €13 million, does not include those who get both services for nothing !. So now we know, it is not only people on support but also the bad payers, we are paying for.

So people have to pay on time and those who should set an example are months behind.
€13 million is not a joke when the people are being made to pay a surcharge and are now facing vast increases in their energy bills.
