Children under care order
There are currently 243 children under care orders, Social Policy Minister John Dalli said in reply to a parliamentary question by Adrian Vassallo (MLP).
Reasons for the issue of care orders included lack of care and sexual, physical or psychological abuse.
Unaccompanied minors who arrived in Malta illegally were also placed under care order.
