Applications for redemption of emphytheusis
During the first six months of the year, the Joint Office received 5,360 applications for the redemption of emphytheusis or purchase of residential property.
Answering a parliamentary question by Ċensu Galea (PN), Finance Minister Tonio Fenech said that out of this number there were 2,837 applicants who, although they had received the funds to purchase the property or redeem the emphytheusis thereon, were still waiting for the contracts to be drawn up.
