It's all about priorities
a. €58,000,000 ÷ 1,000 = €58,000 per family
b. €9,320,000 ÷ 1,000 = €9,320 per family
c. €1,000,000 ÷ 1,000 = €1,000 per family
What do the above figures represent?
Figure (a) represents the average each of 1,000 able-bodied shipyard worker's family received for early retirement.
Figure (b) represents what it would cost to offer free medicine to 1,000 life-threatened breast cancer victims' families.
Figure (c) represents my estimate of what it would possibly cost to provide life-saving kidney machines for 1,000 sufferers who have to rely on people's generosity in sponsoring cyclists during their annual cycling ordeal.
Does the government have its priorities right ?

They can't buy kidney machines when they've spent all that money on surplus dentist's chairs.

Quie interesting how Mr. Parnis goes about the subject of priorities. May I add my views on the subject.
First of all I am sure Mr. Parnis knows that when it comes to priorities the government is always conditioned by other factors, such as Union's and workers' demands.
However, I believe that with some positive thinking one can still hope that next year the government will be in a position to find the money for kidney machines and the breast cancer patients. I am saying this knowing that as from next year we will be saving on the yearly dockyard subsidy which ran into millions of euros!
