Conservation and restoration works on the façade of the Gozo cathedral in Victoria are underway. The belfrey and the dome base were restored recently.

Gozo's vicar-general Mgr Giovanni Bosco Gauci said the works have reached a delicate stage. He hoped that the necessary help, which was so instrumental in the previous restoration, would be forthcoming.

Work on the façade is being carried out under the supervision of architect Raymond Agius.
