Another centenarian
Maria Saliba of Xewkija celebrated her centenary last week. Family and friends gathered at her home where they attended Mass by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech assisted by Mgr Carmel Mercieca archpriest of Xewkija and Mgr Saviour Muscat, archpriest of Nadur. Gozitan MPs and Xewkija mayor Monica Vella were also present.
Mother of five, grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of 12, Ms Saliba still leads a tranquil life, communicating clearly with those around her.
There are four centenarians living in Gozo.
