The Armed Forces of Malta yesterday towed a drifting yacht back to harbour.

A spokesman for the AFM said a distress signal was received by satellite at the Rescue Co-Coordination Centre which, in turn, dispatched a helicopter to locate the vessel. The crew of the 16-metre long yacht had reported they had no power or water supplies.

Two patrol boats were dispatched to its location and assisted the three French and US nationals on board.
