A Gambian national was yesterday charged with importing cocaine on his arrival from Spain last Thursday.

The man was remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Silvio Meli heard Yahye Ceesay, 25, deny importing and possessing the drug in circumstances denoting it was not for his exclusive use.

Police Inspector Victor Aquilina prosecuted.

Lawyer Patrick Valentino appeared as legal aid to the accused.
