Malta assured themselves of a place in the last four of the Comen Cup when they defeated Switzerland by a comfortable eight-goal margin in a match which produced 20 goals.
Unlike the Cypriots on Wednesday, the Swiss offered some sort of decent opposition, despite the Maltese having a clear edge over opponents who could only net once from nine man-up sets.
However, Malta were very solid at the back and hardly gave the visitors time to steady themselves for a good pot at goal.
A 7-2 lead after the first two sessions was enough assurance for Sergio Afric's team to administer the proceedings thereafter. Malta went on to win the next two sessions.
John Soler, who missed two penalties, and Jonathan Valletta were our top scorers with a hat-trick each.

Weldone MALTA
Very Weldone
Keep it up.
It is shame how local newspapers do not feature enough our local boys when they excel. Come on local dailies we deserve better. Expose our lads along with the foreign ones if you like.
I mean just look at that result Malta beats Switzerland WOW I think it deserves a headliner in bold and TV interviews with the team. Such exposure propels our lads and gals to excellence everybody loves exposure guys....... go for it. It is such a shame that dailies reserve such exposure when our football team gets thrashed 6-0 that kind of reporting on its own engenders mediocrity :-)
