The MADC revue More Fourplay, which can be seen at Teatru Manoel from October 10 to 12, then again the following weekend from October 17 to 19, is a follow-up version of the first edition which was entitled just Fourplay.

Revue per se has gone into something of a decline in recent years, which is rather a pity, since it can be a very pithy and relevant theatrical form. The genre probably reached a peak of popularity in the UK and the US after World War One and sustained its popularity through to the 1940s.

At this time brilliant revue artistes like Hermione Gingold, Eddie Cantor, Fanny Brice and Noel Coward prospered and composers of the calibre of Richard Rogers, Cole Porter and Sandy Wilson have written songs for various revues. The cast of More Fourplay comprises Louiselle Vassallo, Alan Paris, Isabel Warrington and Alan Montanaro. The show is credited with four directors Denise Mulholland, Herman Grech, James Borg .and Wesley Ellul.

More Fourplay will comprise a series of short sketches and this shows the advantage of the revue format, whereby if you don't care for one item, it is never very long before another one comes along.
