What ever they try and do some kind of road works in MALTA THERE IS ALLWAYS SOME COMPLAINTS everybody wants it their way .
@ Mark Galea consider it as at least it is beening done , i think they have tought it long and hard when to do the work , they have giving an allternitive way to use ,with the children at school surely there will be less hazard, IF THE ROADS STAY AS THEY ARE EVERYBODY COMPLAINS , NOW THEY ARE BEING DOWN THANK THE LORD WE ARE MOVING ON .

This is what boggles the mind even more!!
I was in Sliema around 2pm yesterday 03/10.... Lower end of Tower Road closed (Magic Kiosk area)....
Supposedly traffic towards upper Tower Road was passing through Bisazza Street, but lo and behold, I saw two people painting road markings on the Lower end (near Giorgios) and the road was CLOSED as well!!

I thought that Tower ROAD WAS TO BE PEDESTRIANIZED AND TRAFFIC WAS TO PASS TROUGH TIGNE POINT. BUT I GUESS BUILDING FLATS INSTEAD IS MORE IMPORTANT

Hopefully now that more traffic will be passing through St.Peter street to get to Catherdral street, the debris and wooden drawers dumped in a corner of the lower part of the street will be finally removed.

@ Mark Galea
Whenever it would have been decided to tackle this project would have upset someone - it is after all a slightly busy area.
What would be useful is if the project were properly coordinated, run 24/7 with maximum flat out work taking place. No breaks in work flow, start from one end and immediate restoration taking place as the work moves along the road. This way it would be a maximum disruption for a very short period rather than a long drawn out messy inconvenience running over weeks instead of days.

I wonder why this chaotic arrangement had to coincide precisely with the first week of a new scholastic year. With St. Joseph's School in Cathedral Street, there's bound to be chaos during rush hours. This could have been planned for the second half of June going into the first or second week of July, just when school is closing for the year and before the full swing of tourist influx.
