Edwin Camilleri is set to be named coach of Malta's U-21 team.

Camilleri, who was in charge of the U-19 national team, succeeds Mark Miller who last month ended his long spell with the U-21s to take over Premier League side Hibernians.

Silvio Vella, another long-serving member of the Malta FA coaching staff, is set to replace Camilleri as coach of Malta's U-19 team.

Vella, who like Camilleri is a former Hibs and Malta defender, was Miller's no.2 for the best part of the latter's tenure as Malta U-21 coach.

The new roles assigned to Camilleri and Vella with the Malta FA's coaching structure followed a recommendation by national coach and technical director Dusan Fitzel.

Malta FA president Joe Mifsud is expected to officially announce the new appointments for Camilleri and Vella during this evening's meeting of the association's council.

Meanwhile, the top officials of the 10 Premier League clubs had a meeting with the Malta FA hierarchy, led by Dr Mifsud, at the Centenary Hall.
