Ministry denies investigation focus is on hacking of Opposition MPs' e-mails
The IT ministry said today that a story in another section of the media that the on-going police investigation on MITTS was about hacking into the email accounts of members of the Opposition was “a pack of lies”.
“Neither MITTS nor the Ministry have ever had any inkling of this sort of allegation contained in the story,” the ministry said, adding that if the quoted “senior Labour Party officials” had any facts at hand they should immediately pass them on to the police.
IT Minister Austin Gatt last Monday told Parliament that the attack on the government e-mail system happened some three weeks ago and intense police investigations were still going on.

Paul Fava has absolutely nothing to report. Come si dice, molto fumo niente arrosto. He's just trying to be funny. I too have something to report but it will be reported when the time comes and not like this Fava who tries to be funny with serious things. Your story is just a hearsay nothing more and nothing less otherwise you would have done your civic duty and gone to the police to report it. Or would you like to report it to the elves' laboratory of fibs?

@ Mr Paul Fava
While I sincerely respect your opinion, I do not see why, as a Maltese citizen, you "would never pass any information to the police!!!". God forbid, I will be more than happy to report anything wrong that might happen to your goodself. Your arguments unfortunately, do sometimes happen in Malta and in other countries. It is really an honour for true citizens, worldwide, to report any wrongdoings to the police or to those concerned. "Love thy neighbour...."
