I would like to thank the Times of Malta and its readers for their interest and support following the publication of the article Changing The World Through Football (August 27).
More than a month has now passed since the publication of the article regarding my voluntary work in Lusaka, Zambia's capital.
Since arriving in Lusaka, to undertake voluntary work with Breakthrough Sports Academy (BSA), a small independent school of sports and life for the children living around the Northmead, Garden, Chilulu, Emersdale and Kalingalinga communities, we have been busy organising various events and activities to help support the further development of local youth.
In this relation I would like to thank all those who have contributed to assisting and supporting the work done by BSA through their financial contribution, the donation of second hand and new sportswear, as well as all their words of encouragement and prayers.
Thanks to everyone's support, it has been possible to ensure the continuous participation and organisation of sporting and extra-curricular activities that have helped build a respecting and caring bunch of lively citizens: Players have become junior sports leaders or mentors for the younger players, and lead community environmental clean-ups and drop-in sports camps to spread the benefits of sports both for personal and community development.
All your efforts are greatly appreciated by all at BSA, whose thank you messages and pictures can be viewed on my web-blog for all to see at www.yesfordevelopment.weebly.org.
