Obituary
BAJADA. On September 29, at Mater Dei Hospital, GEORGINA of Xagħra, Gozo, residing at Gżira, aged 85, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Frances and her husband Robby, Rose and her husband France, Sr Angelica of the Augustinian Order, and Vivienne, her sons Raymond and Carmel and his wife Maria, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Gżira parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated.
FALZON. On September 29, JOE, of Siġġiewi, aged 51, passed away peacefully at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Marcelle, his daughters Anthea and Nicole, his mother Margerita, his sisters Rita, Helen, Mary, Connie and Jane and their respective husbands, his mother-in-law Nikolina, his other in-laws, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital today at 4 p.m. for St Nicholas parish church, Siġġiewi, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4.30 p.m. followed by interment at Siġġiewi Cemetery. Lord grant him eternal rest.
VELLA. On September 28, JOSEPH, of Swatar, aged 81, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Fortunata, née Zammit, his children Doreen and her husband Renato Magri, David and his wife Carmen, his grandchildren Daniela and her husband Elie Mtanos Salamé, Edward, Minette and Michelle, his brothers and sisters, his wife's brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8.45 a.m. for Marija Omm il-Knisja parish church, Swatar, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment in the family chapel at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Marija Omm il-Knisja church will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Art at Italian Cultural Institute
An exhibition of 34 works by Maltese artists, called L'Italiano in Piazza - the Italian in the square - will be held at the Italian Cultural Institute, St George Square, Valletta and will run until October 25. The visiting hours are 9 a.m. till 1 p.m.
The exhibition is the result of a competition that was launched by the Italian Ambassador to celebrate the VIII Week Of Italian Language In The World. This year's theme (The Italian in the Square) is an issue of great symbolic value, which identifies the square as a real and ideal place where to celebrate the history of Italy's national and regional identities.
President Eddie Fenech Adami, who will inaugurate the exhibition on Saturday at 10.30 a.m., will present awards to the competition winners, as judged by a jury. The painter whose is voted best by the public visiting the exhibition in the first two weeks, will be given an award on October 25.
