Archbishop Paul Cremona will be going to Hungary this morning to attend a plenary assembly of the Council of European Bishops.
The assembly to be held in Budapest between today and Friday will tackle the relationship between the Church and the media and will feature discussions about collaboration between bishops from various countries.
They will discuss the ecumenical forum between Catholic and Orthodox denominations, European institutions, the teaching of the Catholic faith in schools, stem cell research, euthanasia and the Church's relationship with Islam.
After the assembly, Mgr Cremona will go to Rome to attend a synod of bishops that will open with a Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI at St Paul's Basilica on Sunday.
During the Synod that ends on October 26, the bishops will discuss the word of God in the Church's life and mission.
