Issue with employer 20 years ago
I refer to Charles J. Buttigieg's letter of September 29 (Ten Years In Court To Prove Blatant Political Plot).
Mr Buttigieg demonstrated why I am right in resolving not to enter into debate with him and people like him. For the record, this will be the last communication from me on the subject, I do not deny that Mr Buttigieg had an issue with his employer, with whom I was also employed at the time (now 20 years ago).
All I had written in my response to Mr Buttigieg's earlier letter was that - given the passage of time and the various and complex matters with which I have dealt since - I do not recall the details of his case, merely that he had one.
This does not mean, as I have already stated, that the case was not important to Mr Buttigieg.

@ Franco Farrugia.
Apologies are only noble jesters when they are made voluntarily and truly come out from the heart. These people have no remorse for their past and present injustices so much so that they deny they ever happened, ABC simply forgot. I do not expect an apology from these people because I got what I wanted from the court of laws. What I want to see is our two main political parties fighting on issues and allowing us to live a reasonable tranquil life. Let bygones be bygones.

Atrocities - was it al qaida - such bombastic words. The atrocities I remember in the 70's and 80's included affordable social housing, german investment, public companies in airtransport, seatransport, communication, energy, banking .. you name it, the minimum wage, two thirds pension for all, additional vacation leave, no poverty, additional modern studies at the university, improved and free health care, universal post secondary education.
And all this while sabotage and civil unrest instigated all days and explosives behind doors of civil service managment. I remember that even to so much loved computers were targeted with explosives in those days, when we were supposed to hate/love computers. Hatred all around - but still I do not use silly words such atrocities - I can only call it political immaturity - still around and abound today.

@ Franco Farrugia and Victor Caruana.
My constitutional case made Head line news in The Sunday Times with a long article contributed by Dr. Giovanni Bonello, It was raised in parliament by Dom Mintoff and the late Lorry Sant. The Minister responsible for Air Malta as well as EFA declined from defending themselves. The late Dr. Joe Fenech, Albert Mizzi, Joe N. Tabone, Nick Degiorgio and the entire board of directors were party to the inhuman and degrading treatment that I received from 1987 up to 1996. Any law student would have knowledge about it as it is still used as a case study in our university. But Dr. Andrew–Borg Cardona, who was, at that time, part of the Senior Management at Air Malta, has no recollection. What else can I say?

One has to be fair.
If anyone has an apology to make, a lot of apologies have to pass from one side to the other, particularly a certain political party for the atrocities committed in the 70s and 80s. Give the devil his due, Mr Caruana.

One cannot escape his past. What Mr. Buttigieg implies is very serious. He said that you were Group Head Human Resources and you had to fire him as ordered from above. If it were me I would be offended to depict me as a puppet manager. You were either Group Head or not. Charles is either kind hearted or naive. And this has nothing to do with politics.
However it still makes sense to apologise to Charles for your past mistakes.
