An AFM rescue launch yesterday rescued the only person on board a cabin cruiser which sank just off Marsaxlokk at 8.30 a.m.

Sources said the cabin cruiser, Domana, sent a distress signal reporting it was taking in water when it was 1.5 nautical miles off Marsaxlokk.

The cabin cruiser sank quickly and the owner was rescued by the rescue launch Melita 1 and taken to the Haywharf Maritime Squadron base in Pieta'.
