The University Students' Council will be holding the Freshers' Week on campus despite the uncertainty surrounding the start of the new academic year because of the dispute between academic staff and the University's management.

The academic staff is not ruling out a strike if no agreement is reached on their financial package by Wednesday. The KSU Freshers' Week, being held between tomorrow and Friday, aims to lessen the initial shock of the University experience and exposes the new university student to the various aspects of life on campus.

Freshers' Week 2008 will include stands from student organisations, corporate partners and commercial entities on campus, entertainment throughout the day, constant promotions and VIP tours of campus and media events.

An addition to this year's programme is a debate on Thursday with the theme University Students: The future Of A nation, which includes the participation of KSU alumni.
