The Attorney General has recommended criminal action regarding alleged irregularities in the registration of the trawlers Gaia 1 and Sharone 1, the Malta Maritime Authority said today.

The recommendation follow an inquiry ordered by Communications Minister in May.

The allegations centre on the identity of two ships carrying the Bolivian flag which was used to register two other ships under the Malta flag.
