Disappointing omission at Third Age University

The calendar of study units offered by the University of the Third Age [U3E] is available on registration for Year 2008-09 at the U3E Office, Catholic Institute, Floriana.

It is disquieting how the profession that specialises in human movement is not integrated in the programme for 2008-09. Aspirations were high that the exercise classes Keep Fit In Old Age (2007-08) would be carried into the following year, especially as analysis of a questionnaire, sent to the students at end of the academic year, indicated clearly the U3E members' choice and enthusiasm, supported by a petition, for a "keep fit" unit in Floriana and Sliema Centres.

It is disappointing that mobility exercise, a key ingredient to a quality life, a sovereign medicine for preservation of brain and mind, was not included in the programme. U3E students are not asking for a stipend!
