Countertext is a new peer-reviewed, international interdisciplinary online journal being planned by the University's Department of English to publish critical work by postgraduates and established scholars ranging across literary studies, critical theory, linguistics and cultural studies. It encourages a diversity of critical outlooks, exploring modes of affinity with and disaffiliation from current and established thought.

In preparation for its first issue in February 2009, the journal is now welcoming papers for consideration. Submissions should be to the Department of English via e-mail: stephania.buttigieg@um.edu.mt by not later than October 31.
