Local Hyundai agents Meridian Enterprises have seen the i30 enjoy considerable success in Malta. Now comes the i30 Station Wagon, which marks the marque's long-awaited return to this popular segment in Europe.

The new model offers space with a little luxury and lots of safety. It features a class-leading combination of comfort and refinement, interior space, economy and standard equipment, all aspects which make the i30 wagon the family car to consider.

The generous seating space, plentiful leg, elbow, head and hip room, easy access boot space and well-planned storage space makes this car practical and attractive. With versatile folding rear seats, loading or split loads is no problem. An impressive 340 litres of luggage space with the seats upright or 1,250 litres with them fully folded, special storage for an iPod or MP3 player, sunglasses, holders, map pockets and cup holders are all arranged to be easily accessible.

The Hyundai i30 has also been awarded five stars for adult occupant protection and four stars for child occupant, matching the best in the 'family car' category.

"We are very pleased with the result achieved by the i30 in this Euro NCAP assessment, as it demonstrates our determination to produce vehicles which provide the best possible package of safety features," Hyundai Motor Europe president Kun Hee Ahn said. "The i30 has been engineered to reflect our commitment to cutting-edge design and technology, and safety has always been a priority for us."

The i30 boasts six airbags - including twin front airbags, side and curtain airbags to protect the body and head - and front seatbelt load limiters and pre-tensioners.

Hyundai's local sales manager Andy Portelli said of the i30 Station Wagon's arrival: "We believe in this car. Our aim, aligned with that of Hyundai, is to offer our customers complete peace of mind. We believe in this product because Hyundai is a car manufacturer that strives for reliability, quality and safety. Owners can be reassured that when they choose Hyundai they are choosing a brand they can fully trust."

As an active safety feature available on the i30 is the electronic stability programme (ESP). This system assists the driver in the event of being forced to swerve the vehicle, and helps to maintain the vehicle's intended direction, rather than allow it to unavoidably slide or spin out of control.

The i30 station wagon is being launched at a special introductory price of €20,400. New owners will also receive €250 worth of free fuel. The offer is valid throughout October.
