Restoration of Mġarr ix-Xini Tower

Mġarr ix-Xini Tower, built in 1661 at the time of Grand Master De Redin, is being restored.

The works, being carried out by Wirt Għawdex in collaboration with the Gozo Ministry, include the reconstruction of the internal staircase leading to the roof, plastering of several parts of the tower, covering of the floor with new stone slabs as well as the installation of new apertures, including the main door with the bridge leading to it.

The tower is due to reopen to the public in spring.
