There are two types of guarantees, namely the legal guarantee and the commercial guarantee. The legal guarantee is obligatory and it is valid for two years.

On the other hand, the commercial guarantee is not obligatory.

The concept of the commercial guarantees is to encourage traders to compete with each other by offering better guarantees to consumers.

In fact, unlike legal guarantees, which are valid for two years, the validity period of commercial guarantees is determined by the respective traders. It was hoped that traders would offer commercial guarantees valid for more than two years. However, rather than offer longer guarantees, some traders offer a commercial guarantee valid for six months and they mislead consumers by telling them that it is the only guarantee.

I stress that the legal guarantee is valid for two years, no matter what.
