Three face theft charges

Two 19-year-old men and a 16-year-old boy yesterday pleaded not guilty to stealing various items, including cash and electronic equipment, from rooms in the Palm Court Hotel.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano heard Ritmark Borg of Paola, Joshua Gatt of Tarxien and the minor deny stealing the items on and before September 19.

The items went missing from six rooms and included two portable DVD players, cash, mobile phones and a watch.

After taking into consideration the fact that the three had already been granted police bail before appearing in court, the court granted them bail against a personal guarantee of €2,000 each.

Police Inspector Jesmond Micallef prosecuted. Lawyer Joseph Brincat appeared for the minor and for Mr Borg. Lawyer Anthony Cutajar appeared for Mr Gatt.
