Russian company completes filming of major production in Malta

Film Corporation Ltd, a Russian company, has just finished shooting another major film production in Malta.

The adventure movie, directed by Anastasia Budykho, centres around treasure-hunting in the underwater world of the Mediterranean Sea. It was shot mainly in the sea around Malta utilising various wrecks, decorations and underwater stunts.

The production confirmed Malta's potential as "an excellent filming location", a spokesman for the producers said.

Another Russian production, partly filmed at the Mediterranean Film Studios last February, has just been released in Moscow.

The film called New Land has received very positive comments from critics and may be released in Maltese cinemas shortly. During New Land's premier in Moscow, the film producers praised the professionalism and commitment of all Maltese crew engaged on the project.

The invaluable support and assistance extended by the local authorities, particularly the Malta Film Commission, was also acknowledged.
