Updated - Red Arrows fly in
(Updates video)
Aircraft which will be taking part in this weekend's Malta International Airshow started flying in today, including the RAF Red Arrows aerobatic team. The team's Hawk aircraft made a low-level flypast over the runway before landing. They will be in the air over St Paul's Bay tomorrow at 4.30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m.
A two-seat Typhoon, the trainer version of the front-line RAF fighter, is due to fly in later today while a single-seater will fly in tomorrow morning and will demonstrate its impressive manoeuvrability over St Paul's Bay tomorrow at 2 p.m.

@ Carmelo
The airshow should stop because of disability purposes? If you have a problem with the noise you can buy earplugs, they aren't expensive. At least you can put your mind at rest of not having a heart attack.
Also, stop this safety fear. Do you know how many passenger planes pass over the Maltese islands? What is the idea to stop an airshow because you think that they are going to crash? With your argument, passenger planes should stop operating.
Please let people enjoy this event as it is appreciated by hundreds and find a walk around to your problem. Complaining without good reasoning is useless.

I do not know what is so nice to wake up by tremendous deafening noise. Really speaking for some its joy for others like sick people its hell. I was in so much fear couple of hours ago I thought that the earth comes to an end only to find out there was an Air show. They are not only noisy but very danger increase of collision and will have the same problem like we had in Zabbar when the Vulcan exploded in the air. They are also hazard to our health that could give also a heart attack with their extreme noise. I feel it is about time that our government will stop this air show and think a little about us with disabilty problems.

It was a pleasure and a very ong wait to see the red arrows, the KC135, etc land on runway 31. The only dissapointment was that the maltairshow website did not have their arrival timing correct....
Lets hope we have great weather to enjoy the flying display
