French diver missing off Xlendi

The AFM and a number of divers have launched a search for a French diving instructor missing off Xlendi.

The diver, 44, was reported overdue from a dive in the caves at about 5.30 p.m. The AFM dispatched two launches and a number of divers to conduct the search in fast gathering darkness and in rough seas. A helicopter was also deployed.

The search is expected to resume tomorrow (Friday).
