Senglea councillor suffers vandalism
Blue paint was last night splashed to the facades and doors of the residence of of Senglea PN councillor Charmaine Gerada and her parents. Both residences are in Triq il-Ponta.
Mrs Gerada, who works at the Office of the Prime Minister, told timesofmalta.com that she had no issues that she knew of with anyone.
This was the first case of vandalism suffered by the Gerada family.
The incident was condemned by the Senglea council and the Labour Party.

What a disgusting act and I feel so sorry for the families that have experienced the needless act of vandalism both here and in Vittoriosa. The perpetrators should be made to clean it up and make good what they have done. Is the area on CCTV?
Regardless of personal ideology, The local councillor is trying to be an ambassador for the area and to help its people! i'd think twice about being a councillor!
I hope the Maltese Police Force will prosecute those and deal with them severely!

Whatever we do and whichever way we act in life we will always step on somebody's toes. This is human nature. There will always be the ones who overreact and give way to their basic instincts; the more uneducated these people are the more cowardly they behave and the more likely they are to resort to shameful acts. The best way in life is to ignore these characters ,and the victim should not be influenced in any way by the perpetrators of these criminal acts.. He/she should carry on with their duties and not give way to bullying or to threats. Obviously one should take precautions and ask for police assistance.

Charmaine you know what I would be tempted to do? Paint the rest of the house the same colour and put up a notice thanking the idiot for supplying part of the paint. Jiust ignore them honey the ignorant should be ignored, Kepp your head up a smile on your lips and a twinkle in your eyes.

Whoever commited these acts should be condemned. Maltese Law should be harsh on such offences. I express my full solidarity with Ms Gerada and her family. To my knowledge Ms Gerada is hard working and loves her locality. The Senglea Local Council should be in a better position to surveil the locality by cctv cameras especially in sensitive areas by night.

The cowards have struck again. This time it seems that Charmaine Gerada has experienced the bitter fruits of her labour just like Mayor Boxall of Vittoriosa has. She works hard for her community and the thanks she gets???? Blue paint. Keep it up charmaine. We are solidly behind you. Don not let cowards win over your altruistic spirit.
