The Federation for Hunting & Conservation – Malta (FKNK) has appealed to its members to assist in the protection of vagrant migratory birds.

In a statement, the FKNK said that a small flock of protected birds belonging to a particular species had been sighted over Malta since yesterday afternoon. Although very common in the rest of Europe, these birds were classified as vagrant migratory birds for the Maltese Islands.

The FKNK insisted with its members that they should always observe the regulations governing all bird species not classified as huntable.
