Indian submarine in Grand Harbour
An Indian submarine has been in Grand Harbour for the past few days, an unusual visitor among the cruise liners berthed at Valletta Waterfront.
The submarine is of the Russian-built Kilo class, known in the Indian Navy as the Sindhughosh class.
They are diesel-electric vessels, some of which are equipped with anti-ship cruise missiles with a range of 220 km, along with torpedoes.
They have a displacement of 3,000 tonnes (submerged), a maximum diving depth of 300 meters, top speed of 18 knots and are able to operate solo for 45 days with a crew of 53.

I know that it is a state secret, but I consider it in the national interest to divulge the real reason behind the visit of this submarine.
The Indian Navy was awarded a contract to gauge the depthof the level of confidence which the Maltese have in the EU and its machinations vis a vis Malta. This submarine has dived to its full operational depth but to no avail.
A new submersible has now been commissioned which can reach the bottom and dig.

Is there any truth in the story that they like Malta so much that they all want to claim political aslyum. ? If so , does Malta get to keep the submarine as a freebie ? That would be a great addition to the fleet. !!

Has the Maltese foriegn affairs minister given a letter of protest to the submarine commander to show our country's disgust at the innocent murder of Christian people in their country? And did he also give him a figure for the total amount of money that Malta as a nation has donated to the Indian state, directly and also through religious societies. I hope that he does, as this shows that the Maltese are good people who care for others wherever they are.

The HMS BRAZEN, a British warship, was welcomed some years back, remember? Nobody batted an eyelid back then. Remeber the photo of a Maltese MP wearing a BRAZEN hat in the papers?
So, yes, it is a case of two weights and two measures.

Were are the Graffiti all fuss about nothing group?
Ah now I remember! This was not a British War ship so there is no need to protest. I think that is the way of thinking of this group. If its western protest, if its not stay at home, especially if the ship ones bared the ones mighty red star or sypatized with it. Some of the individuals protesting bear their beliefs from the cloths they were.
Its the case of two weights two measures. Few of these remember that 60 years ago it was the British who were on our side and fought to defend the Island. But for these people it seems like the Anti British ideology blinds and fogs their memories.

@ J Farrugia
Probably they didn't muster enough people to hold their tired 'warships kill' banner. They had a full complement of 'activists' for their anti-British warship gig. :-)
And alleging that these pious non-aligned pacifists exercise double-standards is not on.
I'm sure that if a Russian warship stationed in the Black Sea during the recent Georgian conflict should pay a visit to Malta, they would be out 'in force' - relatively speaking of course.

Have you seen any graffiti or zminijietna protesting against this warship, this submarine, this killer of innocent ships passing through? Where are they, these anti-americans, anti west and anti everything?
