AEGEE's summer university ends

AEGEE-Valletta, the local antenna to one of the largest interdisciplinary European students association, has been busy hosting its summer university. This year, 44 students from 17 European countries were hosted to a two-week experience entitled 'MalTeasers Ahoy!'

Over 110 summer universities were organised through AEGEE, whose aim is to experience cultural bridging in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, bringing around the renowned AEGEE-spirit.

Residing at a hostel in Marsaxlokk, the students could appreciate the spirit of a typical Maltese village. Through this project students enjoyed a diverse programme, including cultural visits around Malta's numerous sites, a day trip to Gozo and another to Comino, Maltese beaches and summer nightlife.

Students also tried traditional Maltese food, and experienced typical Maltese events, such as the Sunday market in Marsaxlokk and the local trades at Craft Village.

During the two-week event, participants and organisers were one large family with different cultures yet one European identity.
