The Under19 national team leaves for Slovakia this afternoon to play in two international friendly matches against its counterparts in Slovakia.

The team is under the guidance of U19 national coach Edwin Camilleri and his assistants Raymond Schembri and Charles Sciberras.

Both matches will be played at the National Training Centre in Senec. The first encounter is on Tuesday at 4 p.m., the second on Thursday at 11 a.m.

The matches will serve as preparation for the UEFA U19 Group 4 qualifiers, being held in Malta in late November. Malta’s young players will then face tough encounters against France, Ireland and Liechtenstein.

The players forming part of the team going to Slovakia are Joseph Aquilina (Three Bridges - England), Daniel Balzan, Tristan Caruana, Elkien Cauchi, Timothy Fleri Soler Leighton Grech and Jonathan Scerri (Hibernians), Owen Bugeja (Floriana), Cleaven Cassar, Sheldon Grech, Chris McKay and Rendall Refalo (Pieta` Hotspurs), Miguel Ciantar (Sliema Wanderers), Matthew Falzon (Hearts FC - Scotland), Dylan Grima (Valletta), Rowen Muscat (Birkirkara), Ryan Zammit (San Ġwann) and Terence Vella (Gudja United).

The team returns to Malta on Friday.
