The Grand Hotel Excelsior green committee recently organised a clean-up of the hotel's surrounding areas and sea.

Water Colour divers and Grand Hotel Excelsior staff scanned the seabed and cleared out any rubbish while other volunteers and guests cleaned the surrounding beach area.

Floriana mayor Nigel Holland and Grand Hotel Excelsior general manager Norbert Grixti attended the activity with volunteers who were joined by Robert Arrigo and Alpine Travel staff members.

A truck load of rubbish was collected, mainly from the seabed.

The hotel also plans to join the Floriana council in another initiative - clean-up the world.
