Twelve members of the Island Car Club compete in the Etna Hill Climb, organised by Salerno Corse, today.

Five recently returned from a successful trip to the hill climb at Cesaro where the Maltese drivers won everything there was to win. Zach Zammit in his Ralt Honda, and Joshua Anastasi driving his JBR3 Kawasaki, finished first and second overall. Matthew Zammit driving his Van Diemen Suzuki finished fifth overall and Steve Zammit Cutajar and his Tatuus Hyabusa seventh.

A further seven drivers have taken out international competition licences issued by the Malta Motorsport Federation and entered the event at the Etna. New drivers include John Zammit (Lotus Elise), Lino Brincat (Dallara Alfa Romeo), Hubert Camilleri (Chevron Cosworth), Nikolai Degiorgio (Lancia Delta), Mark Galea (Subaru Impreza), Michael Fenech (Audi TT), and Noel Galea (Ford Fiesta).
