We received this letter last week in reaction to Mario Casingena's letter last Sunday:

'We refer to Mr Casingena's article regarding the demand of payment for advertising on 'bogus' publications. We have received several demands for payment for advertising, which we deem to be scam (the address is a PO Box and no VAT registration number is given).

'In fact, we had already paid one invoice in 2006 and, on receiving subsequent similar formatted invoices, we tried to find out the source of these invoices (even through MACM, of which we are members) and the Department of Trade, but with no result.

'We would be grateful if you would forward Mr Casingena's contact number or, alternatively, you can contact us for more information. While thanking you for your sterling work, we await your earliest reply.' Maryrose Mallia, f/William Vella, managing director, Transpak Overseas Removals Ltd.

Prior to featuring Mr Casingena's telephone number I must obtain his permission. However, I hope to do so in time for next Sunday.
