Give the mayor a sporting chance
I feel l must reply to the letters having a go at the young lady mayor of St Paul's Bay. Is it a case of male chauvinism or what? How can anyone get experience without doing one's job and being given a chance?
Dog mess is only the fault of dog owners being selfish. Stray cats are strays through no fault of their own; they do not ask to live rough. l am sure they would prefer to have a nice home. l help out at the charity shop for the SASG (stray animal support group), a job mostly done by people without pay at all times in all conditions. lt is heartbreaking work, believe me.
Anyway, please give the mayor a chance. She deserves it after she was voted in to become mayor. Stop being bullies.
Put yourselves to some good deed instead of picking on certain people for a change.

@ Michael Scicluna - I presume, at least: from what I could understand from your comments, it appears that in St Paul's Bay, the one and only problem there is, is coming from dog's poo? Is that the extent of the problem?

The mayor can probably get some good advice from her father (ex-Minister Censu Galea), and the other members of the council (8 or 10 of them + the workers in the council office etc.). She's not a one man show for sure and needs all the help she can get. In the meantime, we thank her for her hard work. Really shows up in Bugibba , Qawra and other areas of St. Paul's Bay. Or it does not? Good luck Mayor.

Susan Pitt I sympastiys with you and more than ever the Young Mayor of St Paul's Bay. Though she has no experience as a Mayor I agree, but before she opted to go for the election these articles and comments have been in the press for over 10 years and reports of the matter went to the council as well. I dare say it is not her fault at all but now that she is at the helm she has to guide the others to do what is needed.
Just as a matter of interest I am not an animal owner but I do sympatise with animals not there owners as some treated just like animals at that and if anyone really loves there pet they should be able to teach and handle them in a good way. This will help the Mayor, her councilers and keeping the place tidy.

Could Ms. Susan Pitt or any high official from SASG give some information about the Electronic Chip? Before the elections animal groups suggested discussions with the
Govt. Any discussions held?
