Vandals target historic tower
Vandals threw used engine oil at the Nadur Tower, limits of Rabat (Malta), and experts say it will be "a while" until the damaged is repaired. The damage has been assessed by the Restoration Department which established that the material thrown at the historic building was in fact used oil. Restoration works will start on Monday and it will be a while before the tower is restored to its former condition, the department said.
Both the Nationalist Party and the Labour Party condemned the act of vandalism.

I can't believe that this sort of thing happens here; I thought vandalism was the English disease.

I agree with J. Borg about the placement of CCTV cameras and once caught the scoundrel or scoundrels should have the same done to their homes and their families homes.
THESE SITES BELONG TO THE MALTESE PEOPLE.............. YES THESE SITES ARE OUR PROPERTY , so let's defend them.
Anyone with a bit of reason defends their property SO WHY DON'T WE?

Let's get some discrete solar powered CCTV all over historical places
the first vandal caught will have all his property confiscated.
