When a Bank issues these Bonds, it always gives reasons for doing so.
So far, nothing.
So, Maria Busuttil and Manuel Mifsud, is HSBC Malta issuing these Bonds to strengthen the Capital base of the Bank, or for a planned future expansion?
Unless one has the answer/s to the above, one cannot comment!
If HSBC wants our money, we are ENTITLED TO KNOW!

@maria busuttil
Do you know who are those who subscribed or how many were the investors?
Do you think that most of them are workers who are trying to make ends meet or were they those who have money stashed away and took the opportunity to invest it?
As an example, ten people may invest €1,000,000, but does that mean that they all invest €100,000?
Certainly not, for 1 person alone may have invested €990,000 and the other 9 had invested the rest.
Dos that make everybody rich?
I think that the Income Tax department would do well to investigate who were the investors, what amount they had invested and whether the money invested had all been declared for tax purposes.

The prophets of doom and gloom are always proved wrong. They rush to send negative comments which could even be harmful but they never learn. Of course, they have every right to comment but, at the same time, they should be careful.
