Melita 'Home of the Champions' until 2012

Following a competitive bidding process resulting in significant investment, Melita has yet again acquired an exclusive media rights package to broadcast the most prestigious European football club competitions - the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup - from 2009 to 2012.

The successful conclusion of these negotiations enables Melita to continue delivering live and exclusive coverage of every UEFA competition on eight Melita Sports channels, as well as a level of exposure on one of the basic tier channels thus providing all Melita subscribers with an opportunity to view top level European football, as from 2009-2010 season. The package includes rights across all Melita's platforms - TV, internet and mobile.

Live coverage includes all UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup fixtures, match highlights and the weekly magazine programmes.

The media rights agreement was signed by Stephen Wright, Melita's chief operations officer and the representatives of Team which represent UEFA in the negotiation of media rights.

Melita Sports is one of few pay TV platforms in the world to offer eight dedicated digital sports channels, with the capacity of showing up to eight simultaneous live sporting events at any time.
