Police seize 1,900 ecstasy pills
The police are holding three men following a haul of over 1,900 ecstasy pills in Birkirkara on Monday evening. The police said the find was made at about 7 p.m. in the whereabouts of the old church after days of surveillance by the Drug Squad. The three men were intercepted when drugs were about to be sold, the police added.
A 25-year-old man from Marsa discarded a bag he was carrying when he spotted officers. The bag was immediately located and found to contain ecstasy pills. The man tried to escape but he was apprehended a little while later.
The two other men, an 18-year-old and a 24-year-old, both from Birkirkara, who were in a car, were allegedly found in possession of a weighing scales and €9,000 in cash.
