On July 21, this year, I had submitted an application for the Diploma in Facilitating Inclusive Education course at the University of Malta. The selection process involved an aptitude test that no one knew when it would be held.
When I received a letter on August 22 informing me of the test date, I was abroad and I would have still been away on the test date (September 1). Apart from the fact that 10 days are a very short notice, the most disappointing was the Department of Psychology's arrogant behaviour towards my problem. I was asked to send an e-mail to address my problem but when I called to check whether the e-mail was received, as after three days I was still without a reply, I was informed that the person concerned was actually on leave till August 28.
I feel this is unfair and I should have been given the opportunity to sit for the test as the situation was beyond my control. A more polite and reasonable answer could have been sent to my complaint rather than that I should have not booked my flight before I knew the test date.
If the department was efficient enough to inform me of the test date when I submitted the application, I would definitely have moved my holiday and not paid the €23.29 fee for nothing.
