So it seems the FKNK are all hell-bent against the foreign birdwatchers that will be coming over to Malta in the coming months to monitor the illegal hunting situation.

Funny that the FKNK fail to realise that the birds that migrate over Malta are by no means our birds; they are a common heritage there to be enjoyed by all. So, yes, when other countries spend thousands of euros in protecting birds and developing programmes to ensure their protection I don't blame them if they come over to Malta to help out in their protection. After all, if we had a proper enforcement unit all this would not be necessary.

It is deplorable how in a press release longer than a Sunday homily, the association fails to unaquivocally remind members to observe the law and, thus, not further tarnish an image that is already way beyond repair.

Finally, I cannot but remark on the latest "buzzword" FKNK are using: the protection of culture in Malta. Before you know it, at the next FKNK PR activity all the committee members will be wearing the traditional għonnella to ensure such traditions are not lost.
