Appreciation - Lal Vaswani
Anne, John and Sarah Chetcuti, write:
Your untimely death shocked all of us and we still find it hard to believe that you are no longer with us. Yet, even in death, your calmness and your wisdom could be felt among us in the closeness of your husband and three children and in the strength they found to deal with your premature passing on.
Aunty Lal was courteous, kind, gentle and loving. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: spending time with her family and enjoying her adored grandchildren whom she got to see on several occasions either when they came to visit or during her travels. She loved travelling and going to prayer meetings and being with her friends.
I remember Christmas Day when we used to sit and chat away after lunch year after year. Those fond memories will stay with us for many more Christmases to come.
Aunty always had a happy nature and instilled in all around her courage and determination. When I went to see her during her last days she said to me: "We have to keep marching on".
Life was not without its hardships but you faced all trials with great faith in God, constant optimism and will power, together with the belief that tomorrow would be a better day.
What you gave us will never be forgotten. It remains reflected in all who ever came in contact with you.
To Uncle Henry, Suzi, Patty, Andrew and their families, our deepest and sincerest condolences.
Farewell dearest aunty. You are near Jesus, resting peacefully and your happy face is smiling down on us and taking care of us. You will remain forever in our hearts.
