A 17-year-old boy was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to stealing gold items, a television set and various objects from his parents' home.

The boy, whose name cannot be published because he is a minor, denied stealing the items, cash, forging documents and handling stolen property between August and this month.

After taking into consideration the seriousness of the charges Magistrate Antonio Vella turned down a request for bail and remanded him in custody.

Police Inspector Anna Marie Micallef prosecuted.
