Indy MotoGP

World championship leader Valentino Rossi won the rain-shortened Indianapolis GP last night to notch his fourth straight win and tighten his grip on the MotoGP title.

Italian Rossi claimed victory when heavy rains swept across the famed Brickyard bringing out the red flag with seven laps still to run.

Nicky Hayden of the US was second while Rossi's Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo finished third. Rossi now has a commanding 87-point lead at the top of the standings.
